Here it is...the first Blog post for Village Clay Talks! Well it's the first week of July and we've got things buzzing around the shop!

Friday we're hosting our first of a series of nights for kids. "Summertime Movie Nights" where Moms and Dads can drop off their kiddos here at Village Clay for a few hours (6 - 9) and go have some time to themselves. We watch movies, eat pizza and popcorn....AND they can paint a little something! We have dinosaurs to go with our movie of the evening...Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. But of course, they can actually do whatever they'd like...within the budget that mom or dad has set :) We'll help them with their creation too...so it ends up as cute and perfect as can be!

I have been asked several times over the past few months about doing evenings like this, so here it is! We're trying it out every Friday from now until the mid to end of Summer then in the fall, it'll go to once a month. I'm hoping this is exactly what everyone was looking for. :)

Another activity I've been asked to begin: Painting Classes for Adults!

Check out what we're doing for August:
August 11th is our first official Painting Techniques Class - The project itself will be your decision and the techniques will be posted on our website ASAP.

Classes will be the second Wednesday of every month beginning August 11th.

Cost: $15.00 plus the price of the project you choose

This is our first post and I want everyone to know that I am open to your feedback, constructive or otherwise. We want Village Clay to be just what you want it to be. We know we're not perfect, that we're going to make mistakes, but hopefully through this forum, we can keep things on pace with what you all want in your local pottery shop!
